New listings drop Tuesday and Friday. Sunday is dead

Agents batch their uploads: Tuesday and Friday are the busiest days for new stock, Sunday gets about 1/8 of Friday's volume, and almost everything lands in office hours.
Flatscout timestamps every listing the moment it first appears on any portal. Looking at 2.5 million+ new listings on the 146 normal days in the 180 days to 16 October 2026, the flow of new stock is anything but uniform — it follows the agent's working week almost perfectly.
The weekly rhythm
| Day | New listings per day | vs Friday |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 20,940 | 87% |
| Tuesday | 22,315 | 93% |
| Wednesday | 21,644 | 90% |
| Thursday | 21,154 | 88% |
| Friday | 24,023 | 100% |
| Saturday | 7,425 | 31% |
| Sunday | 2,980 | 12% |
Friday is the biggest day for new stock — agents push listings live ahead of weekend viewings. Sunday sees just 12% of Friday's volume, and Saturday 31%. If you do your property browsing at the weekend, you're seeing stock that went live days earlier and has already been through a round of viewings.
The daily rhythm
Within the day, 73% of listings go live between 8am and 6pm UK time, with the busiest hour of the working day the 3pm hour (8.9% of all daily listings). Only 21% first appear between 7pm and 7am — and much of that is our own overnight sweep catching listings it missed during the day, not agents working late. New stock is an office-hours phenomenon.
How we measured this
First-seen timestamps come from Flatscout's continuous scraping of Rightmove, Zoopla and SpareRoom over the 180 days to 16 October 2026. Days whose volume was far off normal for that weekday — backfills after an outage, or the outage itself — are left out (34 of 180 days), which is why the table shows averages per day rather than totals. Our crawl cycle adds up to a few hours of detection lag, and a nightly sweep stamps a batch of listings in the small hours, which smooths the hourly curve but cannot create the weekday/weekend spread — that pattern is real agent behaviour. All times UK local; refreshed monthly.
